Adrian Thomas έγραψε:Aswell as Tom's suggestion of barring all the way to the core, it also makes a big difference how you exit thermals. You lose a lot of height putting the bar on, and lose a lot of height in the sink around the edge of a thermal. The ideal way to exit a thermal is to stop your climb when you are the opposite side of the thermal from where you want to go next, then cross the core putting the bar on so you accelerate in lift and are already going fast and on bar when you hit the sink around the thermal. This has two advantages. Firstly, you are going fast through the sink and lose less height. Secondly as the wing pitches forwards as you enter the sink you can come off bar to control pitch rather than having to go on brake (with its associated performance losses).
All this bar business makes it very clear that one of the most important things is to make sure you are the complete master of your wing (as Robbie used to put it). You need to be fully in control and familiar with your wing in all its phases of flight - and particularly at full bar in turbulence. Not the easiest thing to practice.
